Color is the light that is reflected back at us, the color wheel is used in our everyday lives. It exposes your primary, secondary and tertiary colors meaning it explains how two colors can make a new color and how one color can stand by itself. Each color has its own unique characteristics. We use color to manipulate our perceptions. 2. What is a theoretical aspect of color that most intrigues/fascinates you? Why?
A theoretical aspect of color that fascinates me the most would be how you can use a color to bring out emotion. For example, if you were to paint or color something blue, you would get a sense of calmness or sadness, versus painting it orange or an brighter color it would give the illusion of happiness. I think it is interesting how colors can bring out emotions.
3. In the Color video, what made the biggest impact on you in regards to color and it's effects on emotions?
What impacted me the most from the Color video was how she said she would think like she was 5 years old whenever she painted, when she is revising her painting she explains how she does not want her painting to look violent, she wanted it to look more mysterious and soft. Certain colors would attract your attention more than others. The idea of bold colors to be used to express strong emotions.
4. In the Feelings video, what made the biggest impact on you in regards to color and it's effects on emotions?
What impacted me the most from the Feelings video would be that we would speak to each other through objects, monuments and signs. We can express ourselves in ways other than talking; paintings, sculptures, pictures, etc. Art it is a chance to open a door for new values and give us new ideas, and help us discover new things, it helps us be better than what we are now.
